Hi Grace! Yes, it’s possible. Kyoto is near and the ride is short. :)

I have an upcoming trip with my husband and 2 kids next month. I would like to ask the same question asked here 4yrs ago. Apologies if you have already answered this… I cannot seem to find your answer. We’ll be in Osaka for 6D, 5N but intend to also visit Kyoto. Is it possible to just take 2 days trips to Kyoto without moving to another hotel in Kyoto? It’s quite difficult to change hotels with kids around. Hope to hear from you. Thanks so much!

Thanks, Chabeena! Apply for a visa first before booking a ticket. :)

I feel like I was the MAIN CHARACTER of your travel story. Haha. Thanks for the handful tips, might travel to Kyoto late this year. May I ask though, should I apply for a VISA first before I purchase a ticket? I have a Japanese friend to visit in Kyoto but I don’t want to ask for sponsorship unless my application won’t be approved. TYIA

plan my trip to Osaka and Kyoto. Totally recommendable!

Hi Ken, they don’t really say if there is a minimum amount, but the key is to show that you can afford your stay, which means it will depend on how long you will be staying in Japan.

I have a friend who applied for a visa and submitted an itinerary for 5 days but she only had 50,000 in her account. Her application was approved. But then again, that’s not a guarantee.

May I ask how much you had when you applied?
