Hello again and thank you for your blog! I used your blog for a DIY Anawangin tour before and gave comments/feedback as well. This April, I used your blog again for an outing with friends last April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan) holiday. We were 15 adults + 1 kid (7 y.o.). We hired a boat – Kuya Marvin, so thank you for the contact number! We were charged Php 150/person, so paid Php 2,250 for the group. Kid was free of charge. The boat was good for 20 persons. We had 2 vehicles in our group and paid 100 pesos parking fee for each car. We parked the car at Barangay Calayo in Nasugbu. The entrance fee for the cove was increased from Php 25 to Php 50 (effective April 1, 2019). The cove itself was nice, but the toilets/shower rooms were primitive, so they’re not for sosyal people, haha. There were only 2 open cottages – not made of bamboo or nipa, but rather tents/tolda used for funerals or barangay helpdesks (made of tarpaulin and supported by metal posts). When we arrived at the cove, the 2 cottages were already occupied, so it’s good we had our own tent. Note to DIY-ers, it’s better to bring your own tent. We brought our own cooked food, but we also saw some groups grilling or cooking their own food using charcoal or wood. Our group found this a bit “off” since there were signs all over the place that open fires were not allowed (use of butane stoves were OK). There was a sari-sari store where you can buy cooked rice, instant coffee and/or noodles. You can also have them cook simple “silog” meals (tapsilog, longsilog, etc). To our dismay, we also saw signs of pollution due to tourists – plastic packaging, disposable utensils, empty water or soft drinks bottles were left scattered by tourists, even though there were signs everywhere to dispose of trash properly and trash bins were provided. We asked the caretaker of the cove (the one who collected the fees) to be more vigilant regarding waste disposal. It was sad to see plastic pollution already in the cove – some travelers even inserted plastic packaging (of chips) into the rocks in one inlet. As such, our group did a mini clean-up drive to help minimize the pollution. I hope everyone who reads your blog is reminded to be responsible travelers/ tourists and be mindful of their rubbish. (OK, rant over). Again, thank you for your blog and more power to you!
